Every year I work very hard to come up with a "theme" for my classroom. You might wonder, how long does this take? The answer is...HOURS! Many hours spent online researching Pinterest for ideas, going to different teacher favorite stores on a weekly basis hunting for good deals (Target, Dollar Tree, etc.), printing and laminating different projects, organizing and sorting over 300 books for a functional library, and then finally cleaning & setting up the classroom. Even though this process can take a long time, I have to say it is one of my favorite things to do. If I could have a career in designing teacher classrooms, I would jump at the chance in a heartbeat. If I have to spend most of my waking hours in a classroom, it is going to be the kind of classroom that makes me happy. The best part is, if I am happy because it is nice, functional, and organized; the students tend to feel the same way.
